Scott Mainord scrapes the window sill.            Work Day - A Fun Day!

Fred Graham - the master mason at work.Scott Mainord, the head of our Trustees led by example as members gathered for the fall clean-up. Windows were scraped and painted, cracks between the brick railing of the front steps and the building were caulked, the inside was cleaned, and some "antiques" were gathered for sale by a local antique dealer. The work was important, but the fellowship of the day was even more so.

Our church has held up well over the last 50+ years, but the building does need some tender loving care. The furnace is also as old as the building and probably needs more than care. Your help with raising the funds necessary to replace it are needed and will be appreciated. We currently have about 70% of the money needed to replace the furnace - help us close the gap. A Maintenance Endowment is another goal your church has established to help the church remain a vibrant part of the community.

Left Behind Movie Premier at Our Church

Scene from Left Behind: World at WarA unique event took place in churches across America - the World Movie Premier of Left Behind: World at War. Benton UMC was one of those churches which was a world premier location.

As the movie premier dates approached, Pastor Sharp was interviewed on several radio stations, we had good publicity in two newspapers, and a good portion of Benton received flyers. The "theater" was set-up in the fellowship hall, salted-in-the-shell peanuts were provided, and drinks were sold to quench the thirst.

Here you see a scene from the movie photographed right off our new screen. The movie was first-rate and was enjoyed by church members, other people from the Benton community, and folks from surrounding towns. If you missed it, you really missed a great event.

Benton Neighbor Day was a huge success with great weather.

The Benton UMC Pastor's 1969 Camaro shines in the Parade! The church spruced-up their food trailer, cranked-up the grills, and served some great burgers, fish sandwiches, corn dogs, and more. The food was good, but the fellowship was the real seller. Come join us for one of our activities and see what you are missing!
